Payday-loan protections: Goddard vs. Brewer
Despite the clear signal Arizona voters sent rejecting loan sharks by defeating Prop 200 in 2008 by wide margins Governor Brewer’s closets political allies are backing the payday lending industry’s attempts to continue their harmful practices in Arizona. The payday loan industry has been characterized as “debt traps” that prey on working class families in need by charging up to four hundred sixty percent interest. This decision by Brewer’s allies to support predatory lenders before the voters and working class Arizonans stand in clear contrast to Attorney General Terry Goddard’s efforts to protect consumers. Terry Goddard’s office has recently filed a lawsuit against a major payday lender, Quik Cash, for using deceptive practices in order to prevent further abuses and provide relief to victims of this harmful industry.
See for yourself who is standing up for Arizona.
Prop 200
- Terry Goddard led the succesful campaign against Prop. 200, to stop payday lenders from taking advantage of Arizona’s familes.
- Governor Brewer claims not to remeber how she voted on Prop. 200
Consumer protections
- Terry Goddard is fighting the deceptive practices of payday lenders in court
- Governor Brewer is uncncered about her closest political advisors attempting to push through the same law that voters rejected with Prop. 200 last year.

hypnosisNovember 27, 2010 at 8:50 amHi folks, – spotted your current web site due to pure luck whilst wandering round the internet this afternoon, and happy that i did! I like the design and style and tones, but I need to say that I’m having difficulties when it loads. I’m using iCab 4 internet browser for mac, and the menu block does not lineup fully. i am convinced I have applied the same design on a customer’s web-site, but the menu seems okay on mine. I think the error is with my browser and maybe it’s time to change!
